FrJordan McDermott

Rector

St Mary the Virgin, Eccleston and Christ Church, Charnock Richard

Fr Jordan was inducted as Rector of St Mary the Virgin, Eccleston and Christ Church Charnock Richard on Monday 10th June 2024. He served his title as Curate of The Parish of the Good Shepherd, Accrington after his Ordination to the Diaconate at Blackburn Cathedral in 2021.  Before Ordination, Fr Jordan studied Music at Bangor University, Theology at The College of the Resurrection, Mirfield (University of Sheffield) and worked as a Choral Scholar at both Bangor and Blackburn Cathedrals. He spent a year working as a Pastoral Assistant in the Parish of Old St Pancras, Camden Town whilst discerning his vocation to the priesthood. Fr Jordan is married to Becky, and they have a Cockapoo, Chester.

Safeguarding Officer and Lector

Garry was appointed as our Church Warden in  2019; he has served on the PCC for a number of years and has been Chair of the Governors at St Marys CEPS. He was a police officer before retirement.

Gill has been a Churchwarden since 2016. She retired from the NHS to take up organising and taking part in activities at the heart of Eccleston village life.
