School Admissions

Many parents would like their children to attend a faith school becasue of the ethos and values that are distinctly present in both primary and secondary schools that have a Christian foundation.  Becasue such schools also achieve high academic standards competitions is often very intense to secure a place.  The admissions critera for each school is set by the School governors but in the case of faith school those wishing a faith reference to support their application will have to demonstrate attendance at public worship in a church.

Bishop Rawstorne Church of England Academy

We are a foundation parish for Eccleston St Mary's Church of England Primary School and Bishop Rawstorne Church of England Academy.  You can find out what this means in terms of their admissions policy by selecting either St Marys Primary School or Bishop Rawstorne and we will link you to the respective website.

Whilst we can not provide advice on the school which is right for your child or guidance about the application process, we would like to support you should you want a faith reference.  We can ensure that your attendance at church is correctly registered and recorded so that the information we provide to support your application is comprehence and accurate.

There are a couple of things you will need to do:

    • firstly, you must complete a one time registration form to ensure that all subsequent attendances at church are recorded.  The registration form must be completed in full and can be found by following this link
    • secondly ,please make yourself known at the church door to Fr Andrew or another member of clergy each and every time you attend a church service.  If you do not make yourself known in person your attendance can not be recorded.  This is a very important step in the process to ensure that we record your attendance correctly and it is your responsibility to ensure it is done

You can read more about our faith reference processes and procedures in the open letter from Fr Andrew.  Please select here

If you have any concerns or questions about either primary school or High School Admissions please let us know.
